Denver Passive House Alliance

Our name says Denver, but as the only Chapter in the state, we actually cover all of Colorado.   The purpose of the Denver Chapter is to be the home of the Passive House community of  planners, consultants, builders, architects, manufacturers and other individuals working to implement and promote the Passive House Standard here in Colorado.  We meet monthly to socialize, discuss technical issues and plan public outreach activities.

The Passive House Alliance is a great group of good people working together for important purposes.  The Denver Chapter of the Passive House Alliance is the local affiliate of the national organization, Passive House Alliance, US  (PHAUS, pronounced Fay-us).  PHAUS, in turn, is a subsidiary of the Passive House Institute, US (PHIUS, pronounced Fee-us) based in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.  PHIUS was founded in 2008 as a non-profit, 501(C)3, charity for the purpose of educating the public about the  Passive House Energy Efficiency Building Standard.  One of the first things learned about the Passive House Energy Efficiency Building Standard is that the name is usually shortened to simply Passive House!

On the national level, PHIUS concentrates on training professionals on how to implement the Passive House Standard and it is also the certification agency for Passive House professionals, projects and products.
